From Being a Cashier, Now a Professional Teacher

Kenneth Ronquillo is another dreamer weโ€™ll meet who made his way to become a teacher despite the struggles he faced. After completing high school, he faced financial challenges that prevented immediate college entry. But he worked for three years, exploring jobs such as cashier and machine operator to support her family.

Determined to pursue education, he enrolled at the newly established CSDS in Calatagan, taking BTTE, and concurrently served as a student assistant.

Despite receiving scholarships, financial struggles persisted, leading him to pause his education after completing the second year. It was a difficult decision, but he had no choice. Seeking guidance from Sir Joseph, he imparted, “You’re a good person, many believe in you. Pause your education, but never stop dreaming.” With these words, she vowed to return.

Venturing to Metro Manila, Kenneth worked as a call center agent for two years, contributing significantly to her family’s needs. Until the time he saved some from his 2-year work which made him continue his study.ย

Kenneth enrolled at CSDS, graduating in 2021. Delayed by the pandemic, he waited over a year before filing for the board exam.

He decided to enroll, by then, in CBRC. He knows that this idea would really help him to pursue his goal – LET PASSER.ย

On October 2, 2022, during the examination in Lucena, he faced the average difficulty of General Education (Gen.Ed), breezing through the questions. Professional Education proved easy, applying the CARL method as a CBRC eagle.

But the TLE exam was emotionally challenging, with only two definite answers amid guessing. Praying before shading answers, he cried on the van back to Calatagan due to the difficulty of TLE.

He knew that his majorship exam gave him hopelessness. He thought that he wouldnโ€™t make it.ย

Despite aspiring for the Top 10, he humbly prayed for a passing score, even as low as 75, after the exam.

But God has many amazing things to offer especially when he woke up at 2AM on the day of releasing the results and got to know that he was one of the passers of LET.

Proud to say that he got a high-board rating.ย

Rating:
Gen. Ed: 90
Prof. Ed: 93
Major (TLE): 84

Average: 88.80
